Deja vu

Bill Kristol continues to exist in his own private NeoconIdaho fantasy land. The interesting thing is that the landscape of this fantasy location has not changed in the past 4 years, only the name of it.

This morning on Fox, Bill Kristol continued to escalate his calls for war against Iran, stating, “We can try diplomacy. I’m not very hopeful about that. We have to be ready to use force.” Kristol claimed the people of Iran would embrace “the right use of targeted military force.” He added that military force could “trigger changes in Iran,” causing them to embrace regime change.”

Got that? Our invasion will spark a popular uprising, thus toppling the government without any work at all on our parts! Invading Iran would be awesome!!!!1!1!1 And totally easy too!!!!1!11

Hmm. Why does this sound familiar? … can’t quit recall but something is tickling my brain …

Now, I think things have gotten so bad inside Iraq, from the standpoint of the Iraqi people, my belief is we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators.

Yes, that’s clo-

Chalabi assured Cheney and Rumsfeld that the Iraqi people would “welcome us as liberators,” in Cheney’s words. Chalabi said that Iraqis would gratefully strew flowers and candy before U.S. soldiers.

Oh yeah. That totally happened too, didn’t you see? Too bad the liberal MSM didn’t cover all the flowers and candy. It probably wasn’t organic sugarfree candy and those moonbat MSM crazies refused to cover the candy tossing. Why do they hate America?

I should point out that I was not joking about the Kristol fantasy land being identical to the one he inhabited 4 years ago, only with a typo in the name:

We are tempted to comment, in these last days before the war, on the U.N., and the French, and the Democrats. But the war itself will clarify who was right and who was wrong about weapons of mass destruction. It will reveal the aspirations of the people of Iraq, and expose the truth about Saddam’s regime.

These are the same neocon fantasists who have gotten us in this mess in the first place. They were wrong then, they are wrong now. Their insane bloodlust for an imaginary American superhegemony is not only ridiculous, but also psychotic. These people need to be in straightjackets, not on television or in the White House.
