Joenomentum flops

Ever wondered what a Whiny Ass Titty Baby sounded like? Ever seen the personification of “churlish arrogance”? Ever thought that the entitlement mentality was just a figure of speech? Ever experienced the displeasure of having to listen to a sanctimonious prick point the finger at everyone else? Ever wonder if a politician could break the sound barrier going from zero to weasel in under 1 second as he tries to avoid the question of “if you’re a Democrat, why are you collecting signatures for an independent run?” Ever wanted to see the expression “you lay down with dogs, you wake up with fleas” in action?

Well now you can! Watch this excerpt from the Lamont-Lieberman debate and tell me that Joe doesn’t come off horribly. He’s like the cranky Brachman neighbor who would call Animal Control on you when you didn’t have any animals. The housebound cat lady that would scowl over her gnarled hands as she watered her petunias in her window garden.

Lieberman’s so weak that he spent the entire debate going negative on Lamont. He even quoted the St. Ronald of Raygun with the “there you go again” bit. Rape Gurney Joe can’t run on his anti-Social Security, pro-Bush, pro-Iraq war, anti-woman, anti-First Amendment voting record, and incumbency isn’t helping him so all he’s got is Atwaterian/Rovian sleaze. He even finger wags!

I’m less clear on how Lamont came off; he’s kind of bugeyed so people will flip at the Q factor, but he’s intelligent and well spoken so I dig him. I’m serious about this. If you think Lieberman came out of this with a shred of positive value, let me know in the comments.

He has so lost this primary.

Lamont needs to work on his on camera presence.

Loserman, well, neither of the addressed the moderator’s question of what it means to be a Democrat.
Lamont had him on the ropes but didn’t go in for the kill.

Have to tell you I don’t hold out much hope for the Democrats in November.
They come across as being wishy washy without a clear agenda. Yes, Lamont mentioned the 63 lobbyists for each congressional representative in Washington but was unclear about what he really thought he could do about it.

The Dems need a media consultant, if and only if, they can agree on a strong message, which is sorely lacking.

If anything, come November, the Dems will win seats not because they campaigned well but because the American public at large is tired of the Republicans and will vote for any candidate that’s not.

I still feel the real issue, which isn’t being discussed seriously anywhere that I’ve seen, is voting fraud.
Until voting fraud is addressed I don’t expect much to change in the November elections.

Democrats may win seats in Congress but not as many as they could if the voting process was monitored…..

    FWIW

As for voting fraud, I think the current climate of the country is that if it’s close, the right is going to take it, so we have to win big. See, e.g., today’s election results in Mexico.

Looks like the US is back in the business of fixin’ Latin America for our their own good.

Lamont’s stage presence isn’t too bad, considering this is his first campaign, I thought. I can see what you mean, though.

The slashes come in with the “are you sure” edit page. There’s a hack to fix it. One sec, lemme go install…

Yep, that seemed to work. I’ll clean up your first comment, but from here on out, shouldn’t be any problems.
